Meanderri Passive Solar House

Meanderri Passive Solar House

The modules fit together like a jigsaw. Internal corridors link the north-facing living and master bedroom modules, while the secondary guest bedrooms and bathrooms orient to the south of the property. Air locks separate each wing, enabling them to be shut, opened and vented depending on the external environment and which areas are occupied. An isolation power switch allows devices using standby power to be turned off with the flick of one switch.Although the wet areas are situated in adjoining modules, they are grouped to make hot water use more efficient. A 22,500 litre rainwater tank is connected to the toilets, laundry and as mains back-up in case of water shortage.
